The 43rd Cleveland International Film Festival will present Director Jamie Babbit with the inaugural DReam Catcher award to honor the legacy of David Ream, who was a beloved and long-serving CIFF trustee, and LGBTQ community member and advocate.
DReam Catcher celebrates LGBTQ artists through the recognition of an LGBTQ filmmaker at each Festival. A Cleveland native, Babbit’s award-winning work spans across film and television. Her feature credits include "But I'm a Cheerleader", "Itty Bitty Titty Committee", and "Fresno". Her directing television credits include Russian Doll, GIRLS, and The L Word.
