Music Therapist
Part Time Hourly (15-20 hours weekly with growth potential)
Reports to: Associate Director of Creative Arts Therapies
Start Date: September 1, 2025
Position Summary: Functioning as a member of the Creative Arts Therapies team, music therapists (MT) serve individuals of all ages with and without various disabilities. Assignments include placement in agencies throughout Northeast Ohio region as well as group music therapy sessions, group music programming, and/or adapted programming at Beck Center for the Arts. *Current position is primarily working with early childhood music groups (infant-age 5), special education classrooms (middle school), and adults with developmental disabilities.*
Responsibilities:

MT’s primary responsibility includes the design and implementation of early childhood music enrichment programs (infant-age 5) both in the community and at Beck Center.

MT will design and implement music therapy programming in special education classrooms in local school district.

MT will lead unison choir(s) of adults with developmental disabilities in community.

MT will also be a part of various one-time community arts programs with grades K-5.

MT may also lead adapted and community arts programs as assigned by the Associate Director of Creative Arts Therapies.

Additional music therapy contracts in the community as they become available.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor degree in Music Therapy
· Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) through the Certification Board for Music Therapists, or Board Eligible with immediate plans to take the certification exam.
· Licensed Professional Music Therapist (LPMT) through the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board.
· Reliable transportation both to Beck Center and to various contracts in the community

1-2 years’ experience as a music therapist in a community based program preferred.

A self-motivated individual with experience and desire to move the music therapy program forward by assisting the Associate Director in increasing participation and community awareness.

Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook preferred.

Excellent organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines.
· Flexibility, creativity, and dedication to serving the needs of program participants
· Flexibility of schedule (to be discussed at time of interview).

Pay Rate: $22-$26 per hour. Hourly rate will be discussed with each potential candidate (commensurate with experience).
