Gay Games By the Numbers: Generated $6.8M in revenue and $147k in net profit

The Gay Games that took place in Cleveland last summer generated $120,000 for the Gay Games LGBT Legacy Fund at the Cleveland Foundation and $27,000 for the Gay Community Endowment Fund of the Akron Community Foundation, according to a report issued Thursday, Feb. 19.
The donations represent the net profit from Gay Games 9, which Cleveland organizers describe as the most profitable in the event’s 32-year history. The report was issued in conjunction with a panel discussion, “2014 Gay Games Lessons and Legacies” held Thursday at the City Club of Cleveland.
