  • About

We are the “People’s University,” the center of learning for a diverse and inclusive community.

The Cleveland Public Library is a welcoming, community-centered institution dedicated to strengthening our city through free access to information, ideas, and opportunities. Serving people of all ages and backgrounds, we connect our community to knowledge, culture, and resources that support lifelong learning, civic engagement, and personal growth.
Through an extensive collection of books, digital materials, and archival resources; as well as innovative programs, events, and public services, the Library works to remove barriers to access and ensure everyone has the tools they need to thrive. We are committed to inclusivity, intellectual freedom, and the power of libraries to foster informed communities and a healthy democracy.
At Cleveland Public Library, everyone belongs and everyone is invited to explore, learn, and imagine what’s possible.
